Cyberplanet 5922 is a JRPG developed by Square in 1995. It's age and low budget can be immediately seen, but it has a great story and expansive world to explore. I would not recommend the game for hardcore JRPG fans (such as myself), but Cyberplanet 5822 will suffice! The game starts off with players assuming the role of Jared, an elementary school student who enters the digital world of Cyberplanet 213 by accident one day. This is where he meets all kinds of characters and has some moral dilemmas such as whether or not to kill someone (a question that never gets answered). Along the way Jared also finds an old robot named Cello who is a member of the Cyberpunk Squad and learns how to build his own robot.

Gameplay: 5/10. Was able to walk and run around in Cyberplanet 5922, but I did not use any other combat options because it was just too easy.

It was released on the PlayStation in Japan, and on the Nintendo Entertainment System in the US. The game follows Jared, a young boy who found himself in Cyberpunk World after being hit by a van containing chips containing data relating to this world. The game is an RPG that follows the traditional mold of JRPGs at the time. The game has standard JRPG elements such as exploration, item collection, turn-based battles/skills, etc. While there are many JRPGs that focus heavily on action based combat (such as Pokémon), Cyberplanet 5922 still retains its RPG roots by having player interact with other characters via conversations which are accompanied by text boxes. The battle mechanic is a mix of turn-based and real-time. In the beginning of the game, combat is in real-time. In this mode Jared can walk around freely and attack enemies while they do the same to him. The only attacks that can be used in this mode are regular attacks that deal little to no damage and magic which can be used by equipping a spell book and casting it like a regular attack except it costs more MP (magic points). There is no defense or magic defense stat at this point in the game, so there is no way to avoid damage other than dodging enemy attacks altogether.
